Amy Beth Schumer, born June 1, 1981, in New York, is an American stand-up comedian, actress, screenwriter, and producer. She gained recognition after placing fourth on Last Comic Standing in 2007 and went on to perform in clubs and release several stand-up specials for Comedy Central and HBO, including Mostly Sex Stuff (2012) and Live at the Apollo (2015). Her 2015 film Trainwreck, which she wrote and starred in, grossed $140 million and earned critical acclaim. Schumer also created the series Inside Amy Schumer (2013–2016, 2022) and appeared in other projects such as I Feel Your Pain (2017) and Life and Death (2020). She received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her work.*
