Lindsey Caroline Vonn, born October 18, 1984, in St. Paul, Minnesota, is an American alpine skier renowned for excelling in downhill and super-G events. She began skiing at age 2 and moved to Vail, Colorado, at 7 to pursue training. Vonn debuted in the World Cup at 16 in 2000, securing her first win in 2004. Her career highlights include four overall World Cup titles (2008–2010, 2012), 20 downhill victories (a women's record), 82 World Cup wins (second all-time), Olympic gold in downhill (2010), bronze in super-G (2018), and three world championship titles in downhill (2009, 2011, 2013). She retired in 2019 after numerous injuries and surgeries.
Post-retirement, Vonn has worked as a TV presenter for NBC Olympics, authored the autobiography "Rise" (2022), founded the Lindsey Vonn Foundation supporting children and animals, launched a clothing brand, and invested in women's sports.
